Which PANTHEON license should you choose? A guide by company type

A guide to choosing a PANTHEON license: when LX or LT is enough, when SE or ME, when MF, and which licenses can be combined.

Short answer: a sole trader or a small company needs Small Business (LX, LT or LT3), a growing company suits Enterprise (SE), accounting firms and companies that need analytics suit ME, and manufacturers need Manufacture (MF). For retail, Retail (RE, RT) is added on top.

Choose by what you do

Who you are The license usually chosen
Sole trader, just starting LX (one user)
Small company trading abroad or needing VAT calculation LT, or LT3 for up to three users
Small or mid-sized company with accounting, payroll and fixed assets in one system SE
Accounting firm, or a company that needs custom dashboards, analysis and planning ME
Manufacturer MF
Shop with advanced cash registers RE (with SE or higher), RT if needed
Law firm Web Legal (WP)
Sole trader who wants to work in a web browser with no installation Web Light (WL)

Small Business: LX, LT and LT3

All three cover issuing and receiving invoices (including e-invoices), cash register operations, stock and warehouses, travel orders and basic HR records, with fiscalization.

  • LX is a single-user license without VAT calculation and international business.
  • LT is also single-user but adds VAT calculation, international business and predefined business reports (dashboards).
  • LT3 is the network version for up to three users.

You can buy only one LX, or one LT or LT3, per company.

Enterprise: SE and ME

SE is for companies where all departments work in the same system: besides trade it covers accounting, payroll, fixed assets, service and basic manufacturing, with predefined dashboards.

ME is everything SE has, plus business intelligence: custom dashboards, analysis, reports and planning. It also suits accounting firms because it lets them manage several client companies.

Manufacture: MF and MT

MF includes everything in ME and adds production management: planning and scheduling, work orders, bills of materials with alternatives, costing and traceability by serial numbers. MT is an add-on to MF for reporting completed work through a web interface.

Retail: RE and RT

RE is a retail program with an advanced cash register (several registers, stocktaking, several prices per item, sales promotions, vouchers) and is combined with SE or a higher license. RT is an add-on for additional advanced registers next to RE, SE, ME or MF.

What can be combined

Datalab’s rules in short:

  • LX, LT, RE and SE can run up to three companies (databases); for ME and MF the number of companies is not limited.
  • SE, ME and MF cannot be combined with each other.
  • RE goes with SE or higher, RT with RE, SE, ME or MF, and MT with MF.
  • LX and LT cannot be combined with add-on licenses.

Buy, rent or host

You can buy a license (one-off, plus annual maintenance) or rent it monthly from Datalab. A license you bought can also run on our hosting for a fixed monthly price per license. Work out the exact price for your case with the license calculator; all prices and features are in the price list.
