GLS and DPD from PANTHEON: shipment, label and status without a portal

How PANTHEON registers shipments with GLS and DPD, stores the parcel number, prevents double sending and prints the label without a courier portal login.

Short answer: you register a shipment with the courier from the document in PANTHEON. The parcel number (ParcelId) is stored in PANTHEON, the integration makes sure the same shipment is not sent twice, and the delivery status comes back from the courier. With DPD you print the label as a PDF straight from PANTHEON and can cancel the shipment, without logging in to the DPD portal.

What happens step by step

  1. A document in PANTHEON (or an order from a webshop) becomes a shipment: recipient and parcel details are sent to the courier.
  2. The courier returns the parcel number (ParcelId), which is stored with the document.
  3. Before sending, the integration checks whether a shipment for that document has already been sent, so it is not registered again.
  4. The shipment status is refreshed from the courier’s reply.

What is specific to DPD

  • the label as a PDF is printed straight from PANTHEON, without connecting to the DPD portal,
  • a shipment can be cancelled from PANTHEON, and the integration handles the case where the shipment has already been sent.

When you use both couriers

The GLS and DPD integrations can work in parallel. The courier is chosen on the document or automatically by rules, for example by destination.

What you need

  • a contract with the courier service, because the integration uses your account with it,
  • a PANTHEON license and Datalab’s Connector license for automatic connection to an external system.
