# Data warehouse and Power BI for PANTHEON

> A data warehouse (DWH) is a database that brings together data from PANTHEON ERP, webshops, external tools and Excel spreadsheets in one place. On top of it we build Power BI reports and dashboards that refresh automatically, so management does not wait for a report but simply opens it in the morning.

## When you need a data warehouse

- data comes from several sources (ERP, webshop, external tools, departmental Excel spreadsheets),
- nobody knows anymore which version of a number is the "right" one,
- a sales report by region takes days to arrive,
- management wants to track key indicators every day, not once a month.

The topic has two parts, and we do both:

### Can Power BI connect directly to PANTHEON?

Yes, but for serious reporting we recommend a data warehouse. It consolidates data from PANTHEON and other sources into a single accurate base, so reports do not depend on manually merged Excel spreadsheets.

### Do you maintain reports after delivery?

Yes. We maintain the reports on an ongoing basis and change them as your needs change, rather than delivering them as a one-off.

### Do we need Power BI licenses?

Sharing reports within the company usually requires Microsoft Power BI licenses. We will recommend a licensing model based on the number of users.
